Taco salads are crazy yummy and very filling, but one of the crucial things that restaurants give you that many people leave off their at home taco salads is tortilla strips. Sure, you can buy them, but why fork over extra dough for something you can make in five minutes at home? Well here at Charleston Crafted we say make them! And here’s how:
What you need:
One taco sized tortilla for every 2 salads
A pizza cutter (or knife)
Cooking spray (like Pam)
Taco Seasoning (optional)
Cookie sheet- or small pan if you’re using a toaster oven.
What you do:
Preheat the oven or toaster oven to 450 degrees.
Place your tortilla on a cookie sheet. Spray it with cooking spray on both sides.
Sprinkle taco seasoning (or any spice!) over the sprayed tortilla.
Use the pizza cutter to slice the tortilla into thin strips. Cut the strips into bite sized pieces.
Separate the strips and bake for five minutes.
Ta-da! Hot and crispy tortilla strips for your taco salad!
