Quick and Easy Fix for Slippery Silverware Drawer Dividers

I already showed you how I lined all of my kitchen drawers with sassy grey chevron vinyl. I’m not used to vinyl, but I like how easy it will make the drawers to wipe up. However, I never considered how slippery vinyl can be. When I filled this drawer with my usual plastic silverware divider (from Walmart), I realized that it really slips around the drawer.

Before you close the drawer

After you re-open the drawer- the divider slides back into the drawer!

It’s hard to capture in photos, but I would have the divider by the front of the drawer, but after opening and closing it, it slid back.

Silly, but annoying.

So, Sean had the brilliant idea to add grips to the bottom of the divider. The previous owner left a roll of non-skid vinyl in a drawer (its got that grippy mesh on one side), so I cut some strips off of that and used regular Elmers glue to attach it to the bottom of the divider.

Once it dried, I replaced it in the drawer. Now even if you slam it, it stays put!

A small difference that most people might not even notice, but it makes me very happy.

What have you been up to lately? Any little updates fixing your pet peeves?
