Eat it or Beat it: Crock Pot French Toast

French Toast is one of my very favorite breakfast foods, but usually when I wake up I am either in too much of a hurry or too lazy to whip up a full batch. So, when I saw this on pinterest, I was very intrigued to try it out:

Ingredients:

1/2 loaf of bread- we used pumpkin swirl, which was delicious. Pepperidge Farm also had apple cinnimon which would have been awesome.

6 eggs

2 cups milk

1 T brown sugar

Vanilla & cinnamon to taste- for me, thats a lot šŸ™‚

Repeat until you’ve used up all of your bread and sauce.

Cook on low over night.

In the end, it turned out very yummy. It was kind of crispy on the outside and extremely gooey on the inside. All of the bread sort of glued together to make one big blob. So, it was different from usual french toast, but still yummy.

As far as it being a little well done, to be fair I did cook this on a Friday night so it cooked for almost ten hours. Otherwise, it was really flavorful. I think that it would be even better if I made it on a week night and it cooked just a little bit less. Either way, the flavored bread really made this one!

Do you ever make breakfast in the crock pot?
