A Football Field of Snacks- The Final Results!

Next week is the College National Football Championship. In anticipation, we wanted to share a fun snack project inspired by Pinterest: The Football Field of snacks. Every day this week, we will be sharing an aspect of the field and will reveal the final product on friday!

All week we’ve been sharing our football snacks with you! Monday we showed you sour cream & spinach sour cream dips. Tuesday we showed you how we decorated football cupcakes. Wednesday we shared our favorite pigs in a blanket & weiners in a hot tub. Yesterday we posted mexican layer dip & cheese dip. Today we will put it all together!

Here is how we planned to lay it out initially:

Dip Layout 1-Charleston Crafted

If you can’t read it from top left it is: corn chips, pigs in a blanket, ruffles, sour cream dip, spinach dip, corn chips, weiners in a hot tub, ruffles, 7 layer dip, queso dip, with lines of cupcakes on the sides.

Then, after seeing it on our card table, we decided that it might be better to adjust the layout to minimize the chances of anything falling off the table, like this:

When we got to the tailgating lot, we quickly realized that it was super windy and that there was no way we could sit out trays of chips without them blowing away.

We also had an incident where someone put the cupcakes on top of the coolers in the trunk and they flipped on the drive & got destroyed. #uglybutstillyummy

So, this is how it ended up looking:

Despite all of the things that went “wrong”, we were still really happy with the display. In the end, it still had the football field effect and was very yummy and way too much food!

What do you make for football parties?

A Football Field of Snacks- Queso Dip & Mexican Layer Dip

Next week is the College National Football Championship. In anticipation, we wanted to share a fun snack project inspired by Pinterest: The Football Field of snacks. Every day this week, we will be sharing an aspect of the field and will reveal the final product on friday!

We love mexican food, but it can be pretty hard to eat while tailgating. That’s why we love these two mexican-themed dips for all parties!

Seven Layer Mexican Dip:

In a bowl, mix 1 can refried beans & 1 packet taco seasoning. Spread in the bottom of a pan.

Spread a layer of sour cream next.

Then, top with a layer of salsa.

Add chopped onion & green onion. Top with a layer of mexican blend shredded cheese.

Top with a layer of guacamole. Ole!

Cheese Dip:

Brown one container of sausage in a sauce pan. Add one container of Cream cheese and melt well. Stir in a can of Rotel mexican style tomatoes. Cook until well melted and serve with corn chips!

A Football Field of Snacks- Pigs in a Blanket & Wieners in a Hottub

If I know one thing, it’s that boys love little weiners. Sean loves it when I make pigs in a blanket for parties, or just for eating in general. I also “invented” another little weiner recipe to keep him happy!

Pigs in a blanket:

Unroll a pack of crescent roll dough. Cut each roll into 2 or 3 triangles. Roll little weiners in the dough. Place on a greased baking sheet & bake at 350 for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve with mustard!

Weiners in a Hot Tub:

Make your favorite corn bread recipe. Might i reccomend this one.

After you scoop the dough into greased muffin tins, add one mini weiner to the center of each one. Bake as usual.  Serve with ketchup.

A Football Field of Snacks- Football Cupcakes!

Next week is the College National Football Championship. In anticipation, we wanted to share a fun snack project inspired by Pinterest: The Football Field of snacks. Every day this week, we will be sharing an aspect of the field and will reveal the final product on friday!

What party is complete without cupcakes? No party I’m attending. I’m kind of the cupcake queen, but one of my most timeless & most requested recipes is the Easy Oreo cupcakes. for a football party, I suggest that you decorate them in a special way.

Frost them with chocolate frosting. One of my favorite tips for getting a nice finish on a cupcake is to take a metal knife and smooth the top. Run the blade under a stream of hot water & use the flat side to smooth the icing for a very easy very dramatic change!

Then I used a small tube of white icing to add football laces to the cupcakes. Cute & easy!

A Football Field of Snacks- Onion Dip & Spinach Dip

Next week is the College National Football Championship. In anticipation, we wanted to share a fun snack project inspired by Pinterest: The Football Field of snacks. Every day this week, we will be sharing an aspect of the field and will reveal the final product on friday!

For tailgating or superbowl parties, football food often involves dips. Two of my favorite, classic dips are sour cream & onion dip and spinach dip. Here are my favorite recipes for both:

Sour Cream & Onion Dip:

Mix 1 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup mayonaise, 1 packet italian dressing mix, 1t worcestershire sauce, 1t lemon juice, 1/2 a white onion (diced finely), 2 cloves minced garlic, and onion powder.

Spread in a pan. I topped with chopped green onions to go with our green field theme!

Spinach Dip:

Mix 1 cup mayonaise, 1 container sour cream, 1 package dry leek soup, 1 can water chestnuts, and 5oz frozen chopped spinach (thawed) in a bowl. Stir it up really good & spread it in a pan.
